Your Work Matters to God, Part 26 of 45

IDEA: When we talk about God's blessing on work, we do not simply mean labor that pays a wage.

PURPOSE: To help listeners see a wider definition of work.

Do you remember the first job you ever had?

Was that the first "work" you ever did?

I. What generally is the difference between work and a job?

When we talk about "work," what do we usually mean?

If our work is a means of showing our love for others, especially our families, then is there work that may not receive a wage, but that is blessed of God?

II. Look at some of the work that people do "around the house" for which they may not receive a salary, but which makes an enormous contribution.

Homemakers:

Do you think that many people who keep a house see their work as being significant? Some do, some don't. Why?

Children:

When we have our children "do chores," what lessons may we be teaching them?

Are all the lessons good?

Husbands and fathers work at home even when they are not "on the job."
